I think it is a waste of money to remove all remnants of these dams. Take out the the transformers and other nasty material, but I see no reason to strip all of the concrete (as shown in the video of a prior dam removal) and reform the stream. Of course leave an opening big enough for the salmon to come through, but treat the footings as “natural” cascades and let the river’s flow carve out a new bed.
