Originally arrested in Bucharest on a sex trafficking charge, Tate told his followers that in jail, his ‘only friends were cockroaches, lice, and bedbugs”.
In other words, status quo.
Tate was subsequently put under house arrest for a time, and then freed from that but unable to travel, pending outcome of trial.
BUCHAREST, March 12 (Reuters) – A Romanian court approved a request from Britain to extradite internet personality Andrew Tate, but postponed doing so until Romanian trial proceedings finish, it said on Tuesday.
The court also ruled that Tate and his brother Tristan should be released from police custody immediately. The Tates had been detained for 24 hours pending a ruling on the British arrest warrant.
The court of appeals said in a statement that it “rules to execute the arrest warrant and … to postpone handing over the requested person until the final verdict in the criminal case argued at the Bucharest court”.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg had a fiery response to controversial influencer Andrew Tate’s attempt to boast about his carbon-dioxide-emitting cars.
Tate, a self-described “success coach” who has been criticized online for a brand that many people describe as misogynistic, tweeted an image of himself with a car Tuesday. He addressed Thunberg directly, tagging her and writing: “Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”
Thunberg — who is known for her signature no-nonsense, blunt style of speaking — quipped backWednesday. She wrote, “yes, please do enlighten me.” She then shared a fake email address at which to reach her: “smalldickenergy@getalife.com.”
