  1. Coal FIRST! JFC! This is almost beyond words. What a waste of money by the DOE to assemble this slick load of bullshit, lies, and distortion. Yet another mortal sin by the Trump administration in its failed response to climate change.

    (and just more proof that COAL is not going away any time soon—-besides here in the USA, look at the news from China and India for proof of that)

      1. ❗️❗️❗️TAKE ACTION❗️❗️❗️

        Financing Abbot Point means supporting the Carmichael coal export project.

        Tell these companies that they must rule out further financing of Abbot Point and other Adani companies.

        ==========

        TAKE ACTION

        Tell these companies to stop pursuing coal power in Matarbari

        In the wake of the fiercest storm Bangladesh has experienced this century, Japanese financial institutions and coal developers are trying to push three new coal power stations.

        1. DUH yet again. It is obvious that COAL is not going away anytime soon—it has the support of governments and the corporations who are spending lots of dirty money. Do you think these projects are going to be stopped by petitions and letters from citizens scattered around the world? That may work on more localized and smaller issues, but not on COAL. Wake the F up.

    1. And the only inane and downright stupid remark that doesn’t elicit “DUH’s” from the more enlightened is the remark that isn’t posted in the first place. Will Chucky ever learn?

  2. Ha Ha. There’s some post-Truth for you. Half arrogant, half devil may care.

    We’re getting more and more of this kind of outright contempt and provocation.

  3. DOE Wants to Fund ‘Small Modular Coal Plants.’ What Does That Mean?
    Small modular coal plants could represent a “paradigm shift,” according to a DOE official.

    One thing this article does not discuss is how to get the coal to the small plant. You would still need rail access and offloading facility, unless you’re going to truck it in.

  4. Coal is going away, no amount of government bullshit can change that. No sane investor is going to put money into a coal fired plant. New coal cannot compete, old coal cannot even compete on the marginal costs.
