Jonathan Koomey is a researcher who has been an author of Berkeley Lab research on the impacts of Data centers, interviewed here by Trevor Noah.

      This is similar to the power usage of refineries and LNG plants. Those industries stopped publicizing their very high electricity draws (and/or the use of some of their fossil fuel combustion to make on-site electricity) back in the noughties.
