Fossil Fuels Leading to War Once Again?

Above, John Fabian, a farmer from Rosebush, Michigan, makes a heartfelt plea to the Isabella County Board to approve the state’s largest wind farm.

As you’ll hear, his words are heartfelt, and grounded in harsh personal experience of the cost of wars for oil and energy.

Are we heading down that tragic and expensive road once again?

In the lead to the Iraq war, Americans were told war would be a “cake walk”.
Below, according to a Fox News talking head, a war would be just like a “video game”.

UPDATE: Even flatworms learn after enough negative stimulus. This GOP shill says he’s tired of useless wars. I remember being called unpatriotic for saying the same thing before the Iraq disaster.

Ironically, he suggests maybe we should get China involved to rein in Iran’s nuclear program.

Actually, that was done, genius. There was a treaty, but a racist President was unwilling to let the Black Guy’s accomplishment stand.

  1. The mood in the country was entirely different before Iraq than it is now. I suppose the media could change that with significant effort – or some large attack (false flag or not) from Iran could. Trump himself seems very hesitant. I’m confused why he has guys like John Bolton around him if he doesn’t want a military action. Bolton is going to press every button possible to start a fight.

One reason why Kerry lost in 2004 was the thought that we can’t change Presidents during a war, and that concerns me here.

It’s clear Trump is easily manipulated by people who stroke his ego or playing on his fear of being seen as weak.

  2. Te wars on Iraq were not about oil. The first was because Sadam Husein tried to conquer Kuweit. This can not be allowed. The second one was about revenge. Sadam Husein lost the war but his horrible regime surfieded. Bush jr. decided to end it. It was not very succesfull. If the USA (or should we say when?) it gets to war with Iran, it will be revenge for the Hostages taken by Iran and the humiliation to the USA. It is not about oil. The USA would love to do the same to Cuba.

WOW!…..and WOW again! It’s obvious that under Trump pettiness is now one of the mainstays of US interaction with other countries, but do you really believe that ANYONE gives a hamster’s rear end about 40-50-60 year old ancient history?

And if you think the presence of any of the western powers in the Middle east over the past century is/was about anything OTHER than oil, you are very confused.
We have always had enough sand of our own.

Well, he is always trying to drag us into the past. For instance, he’d love to revive the 1950’s Operation Wetback, which resulted in the “deportation” of thousands of American citizens because they were Hispanic. He wants to bring back coal, Jim Crow, and nuclear brinksmanship.

    2. This is precisely why all countries need nuclear weapons capable of hitting a few U.S. of American cities, specifically so they can defend themselves against Yanks like you. We all know this, it’s no secret at all. Getting the necessary implemented is an entirely more difficult matter but the reason is obvious.
