Neil DeGrasse Tyson on America’s Abandonment of Science

As a scientist, and a citizen, if Neil Degrasse Tyson is worried, I’m worried too.

  1. Another sign – Bill Gates is shifting his priorities and messaging. He’s trying to pick up the pieces after USAID has been dismantled, which is fine, but he seems to be saying climate change won’t be a major problem at the same time – which very likely is an attempt to appease Trump and the Republicans.

The ‘be optimistic’ faction is worried that people will become disillusioned and not do anything, but maybe be aware that mixed messaging is also very dangerous towards galvanizing action? How is the public supposed to take this from Gates? That we don’t have to worry about climate change anymore?

  2. It’s not only abandoning science, it’s also embracing utter BS and all too often, BS that’s already been debunked. The sheer and utter hypocrisy of the GOP/MAGA is revealed by the fact that when it comes to keeping Trump alive, if they were being true to their words, they should be using woo and crystals, instead they use cutting-edge medical treatments. All of which tells us they know what is true and what is not, but they choose to lie.
I for one think that any American patriot should be demanding the very best for Trump, he should be treated with full strength woo and crystals.
