What I’ve been tellin’ folks for quite some time.
There’s some places that are relatively safe, but not as safe as they think.
What will be the impact as human habits, assumptions, infrastructure, and financial institutions run into changed climate reality?
It’s happening now.

I like that Alex Steffen used the term triage.
Triage as in lifeboat ethics. As long as we have anywhere near the current level of inequality, the response to climate & the larger psycho-ecological crisis will be mostly limited to systematically worsening inequality by protecting wealth, finding ways to double down on fossil fuels (no matter what real costs are) chemical-industrial agriculture, & other extractive industries, & being compelled by nihilistic impulses.
They’re all consequences of the complex psychopathy complex rampant in the ruling class, & until we begin to address that, we’ll drift & be driven from 1 existential crisis to the next, always compromising between solving & not solving. (And every such compromise means not-solving.)
