  1. The area around Houston needs its own flood-prone nickname (like “Tornado Alley”): The Big Sump? Floodsylvania?
    It pretty much has all of the ingredients for recurrent flooding: extraction subsidence, ongoing natural coastal slump, decades of paving and clearing of land, storm surge funnel terrain and ever-increasing heavy rain events.


  2. Looks like all hell is going to break loose on Monday.
    And this is just the start of climate breakdown.
    But still, you had your fun with SUVs and cheap gas, right?
