Hey, if I’ve been a little quiet for a few days, this is why.
I’ve been working on a Rebrand that I’ve been thinking about for a long time.
As longtime readers know, my Yale Climate Connections video series was titled This is Not Cool, and tho I loved that name and wanted to apply it to the blog as well, it was decided to keep the series distinct to the Yale site, so that made sense.
When my friend, editor and mentor Bud Ward, who had brought me into the Yale fold, retired last year, the new editors decided to take a different direction, and we wrapped that series. Most of my work has been taking me in the direction of pushing solutions to climate change (while still keeping up with the unfolding science) so the rebrand for this site made sense.
In particular, a generous donor made the tech support for change possible, so no obstacles were in the way.
Climate Denial Crock of the Week has been and remains an underlying theme, and I’ll continue to bust climate deniers here and elsewhere on social media – but I’ve had a nagging suspicion for a long time that the “climate crocks” brand was confusing to newcomers, who might have mistakenly thought there was not a serious purpose here.
THINC brings the proper level of seriousness plus a hint that I’ll continue to feature a playful vibe, so hoping all long time followers will keep coming back, and perhaps when recommending posts here, not have to explain that it’s really a serious, fact-based discussion.
Looking forward to many more postings and animated discussion, let me know if if any comments, and as always, don’t hesitate to hit the support button if you have the resources and think this is a worthy endeavor.

Looks good! Congrats on the rebrand.
While I’m not in favor of backronyms this is minutely different enough to escape from that definition and so – congratulations! I’m glad to be here.
what’s a backronym?
Where am acronym is created from an already existing word. Stephen Colbert did a good one on the Colbert Report…

Nicely done!
This is cool …
An avid follower wishing you luck with the transition. Thank you for your excellent work, regardless of name.
Go Greenperson!
Looks good.
Have you considered having a “Recent Comments” section on the sidebar? It stimulates conversations.
