Autonomous E-Flight Across Country is a First

I have many questions on the whole Air Taxi idea, some of which were addressed here, noise, and flight safety in particular.

Could be in service around New York City later this year. Hope this isn’t just one more way for Billionaires to soar above the peasants and become even more disconnected from actual humans.

  1. Those exposed cables and joints while in VTOL mode made me think about dust storms, and then he mentioned ice and snow.

(And that silliness about everybody being able to take air taxis made me wonder who would be paying the electricity bill.)

  2. High? OF COURSE this is “just one more way for Billionaires to soar above the peasants and become even more disconnected from actual humans.” That’s entirely what it’s for.

It’s one big reason I’m so much in favor of free or at least very cheap public transit, especially high speed rail. (And radical equality.) Flying is now and always has been overwhelmingly for the rich.

Taking up all the available energy, materials, engineers, and attention with publicly owned, operated, and benefitting travel, production, education, ecological mitigation, and other functions of society will help put wiser priorities in the forefront.
