It’s hard to be sympathetic at all to the aggressors/occupiers, but most likely most of them were ordered to dig trenches and other activities in the contaminated soils, and maybe to some of them getting sick seems to be a way out. Sums up what an inhuman, uncaring and dastardly war this is, and this happening in the 21st century. We will never learn, is our nature so ingrained ?
