Ice Storm Porn: Spin Outs, Crashes and Agonizing Highway Slides

I know I am.

If you’ve ever had that creepy sensation that you are suddenly driving on black ice with no meaningful traction between the road and your wheels, this is for you.

  1. I thought Northerners were supposed to know how to drive in icy conditions!

Some basic rules for slippery conditions:
    – don’t change lanes on an elevated roadway
curves and inertia do not work well together*
    – don’t drive unless it is truly important
    _______
*There’s a slick-condition situation that is analogous in hot, dry environments: The first rain after a long time without it brings up the accumulated oil and rubber particles out of pores in asphalt. People who think they “know how to drive in the rain” can get caught by the first rain of the season.
