Michael Mann on Ida, Hurricanes and “Simultaneous Disasters”

  1. Now that’s what I call “balanced” coverage of climate change: One guest talking about the science and the other talking about adaptive infrastructure.

    🙂

  2. Michael Mann authors such top quality science papers…. So what’s the deal with his “let’s all be OPTIMISTS” nonsense? I don’t think he understands just who he’s dealing with when you consider all people. The problem with scientists – much as I love my brethren – is that they spend too much time with other scientists! They seem to think, when public speaking, either that “The TRUTH? You can HANDLE the Truth!”, or else, “Oh, I’ll just explain the science and then people will change!”. And both are false (or at least, I hope the first is false, at least we need to assume it’s false, otherwise, we’re doomed). We have to hope and have some faith that people WILL respond if we are blunt truth-tellers on the meme “the house is on fire – GET OFF THE COUCH”.

Go have a heart-to-mind talk with Greta, and get a clue, Michael!
