LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) – Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin made some controversial comments while appearing on a Louisville to talk radio show.
He spent most of his visit discussing many things such as the pension crisis and issues with Senate Bill 151.
He also talked about how America is becoming soft because schools are closing due to cold.
“There is no ice going with it or any snow, I mean what happens to America? We’re getting soft,” said Bevin.
Bevin went on to say that it is better to err on the side of caution, but he believes that this is setting a bad example for the youth.
“It does concern me a little bit that in America, on this and many other fronts, we’re sending messages to our young people that if life is hard you can curl up in the fetal position somewhere in a warm place and just wait until it stops being hard, and that just isn’t reality,” said Bevin.

It’s getting tough, girls and boys…

Schools close when the bureaucrats do not want to spend the day in the school. It is really not about weather, it is about their comfort. No kid would freeze as all the schools have heat and the kids are supposed to be dressed for the weather expected. In my sons school the line of cars is a block long taking the kids to and from school so hardly anybody is actually walking so they would be the only kids out in the cold. We need longer school days and more of them, not less , if we actually want to teach the kids what they need to know.
H-e-e-e-e-r-e-s TERRY! A bigger nitwit than the governor! Ignore him.
PS On the CBS Nightly News tonight, there was a brief mention that the outbreak of cold air was bought on by climate change (or some say, sort of).
The NBC Nightly News a half-hour later did a great job tying the extreme weather to climate change—-mentioned the heat wave in AUS was also due to climate change, showed some good graphics, said we can expect it to get worse—made it sound like everyone knew all that. I was feeling good by what little CBS said and was pleasantly surprised nu NBC. Kudos to NBC!
nu = by Keys changing places again—-LOL
Agreed. While you are freezing over there where I live it got to 45C (113 I’m told think in your units). I’m glad I had a young friend with a swimming pool in his back yard. We spent the whole day in it last Friday.
I understand this was just weather. But along with it we have been getting other unprecedented events. This. Being just one! https://www.smh.com.au/environment/conservation/worse-than-last-time-darling-fish-kill-strikes-again-at-menindee-20190128-p50u58.html
Things really do seem to be going nuts!!
Those are some serious fish kill pics from the Darling—-are any fish left alive?
And when does “just weather” become climate change? When it’s too late to do anything about it?
When ALL TIME records fall in job lots, It is not weather, it is AGW!
