This is all going south, and sideways, much faster than we thought. Maybe we should require watching “V for Vendetta” for all voters before entering the booth (assuming the vote gets actually attributed correctly anyway).

The interview of Gingrich starting around 6:00 and going on for a couple of minutes is absolutely stunning. I’ve been around a long time and seen a lot, but my mouth fell open as I listened to The Newt talk about how feelings and beliefs trump fact, especially for a politician. Mooney was right on target when he wrote The Republican Brain. (And The Newt proved himself to be as sick as I always thought he was).
It’s amazing to listen to him as he digs that hole and think “Does he know the microphone is on?”

From which, clearly demonstrated so often by so many, we can only expect brain farts (with a special nod to Dana Rohrabacher) with one notable exception being Bob Inglis.

What is unfolding in the US right now is like the opening chapter of a Stephen King frightener, let us all hope that the plot goes south after that.

Dangerous times indeed, and IMO what is unfolding is far worse than any Stephen King “frightener” (although watching Trump in action does bring to mind some of the scenes from Cujo and Christine).
If it doesn’t go well in November, Trump won’t have to worry about illegal immigrants taking over the country—-they’ll be the only ones left as the rest of us head “south” for NZ and what few other islands of sanity may remain in the world. Redsky, Kiwiiano, and ClimateBob should get together and start a business that helps Trump refugees from the U.S get established in NZ. Might get rich doing so, and that’s the “American Way”, isn’t it?
PS An old friend from college who stayed in the USMC and made a career of it retired as a VERY conservative Repugnant—-he actually looked into moving to NZ when Obama got elected. Decided not to do so because it would have been difficult for him to manage his rather predatory “business” from there, so he’s still living in his big oceanfront home in La Jolla, rolling in his money like Scrooge McDuck, and blaming the country’s ills on Obama and the Democrats. Haven’t talked to him much lately, but the thought of Hillary becoming president has probably got him thinking about moving again.

Since recently visiting the Toad Licker on his obscure and useless blog, WordPress has been forgetting that I am dumboldguy and trying to force me to be seek7516, an old gmail account I thought I had cancelled a year ago. I am having little luck logging out of seek7516 and substituting dumboldguy. What am I doing wrong? Anyone?
PS to PS I tried to post a reply to Lionel Smith under both DOG and seek7516 and it disappeared. Is it in moderation?
I don’t know, I had issues with wordpress over IDs that has prevented me commenting at Eli’s place, this is still ongoing.
The issue seems to have resolved itself on Crock, and I am no longer the owner of a split ID—–DOG woofs on here!. That poseur and dilettante Toad Licker couldn’t deal with my logic without breaking down and collapsing into a disgusting pile of narcissistic whining BS, so he banned me from his site. I am devastated, although it was a brave thing for him to do considering the hit his numbers took—he has only four or five subscribers.
As far as Trumpton—-no, I had never heard of it but it’s great stuff.
Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew! LOL I love British humor—understated and droll compared to the more “in your face” stuff we have over here, but it cracked me up. I love Monty Python and Mr. Bean, and Wallace and Grommit can’t be beat.
I had googled Trumpton, and found a great episode that is probably a more recent take-off—–tried to link it here but lost it and now can’t find it.
