Dr. Ricky Rood: Why it’s so Freaking Cold

I was in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan interviewing Ricky Rood the other day – and that’s the question I asked him.

Dr. Richard Rood is a former NASA Atmospheric Scientist now teaching at the University of Michigan Department of Oceanic, Atmospheric, and Space Sciences.
Simple, short, direct, shareable.

Errata, when Dr. Rood says “..the coldest place on the planet”, he is of course referring to “colder than normal”, not absolute temperature.

  1. Yes, another “Simple, short, direct description” to add to all the other good ones you’ve provided on Crock. Is there anyone out there that doesn’t understand this? Inhofe perhaps? We in northern VA are blaming him for the cold we’re suffering—-it’s from all those snowballs that “Frosty Inhofe” is throwing our way from the Senate floor. (“dumbetty, dumb, dumb, dumbetty, dumb, dumb, look at Frosty go”)

I’d like to see some commentary about where this is likely to lead if it continues and worsens over the next few years. 20 feet of snow in Boston? Ski areas opening in Florida?
