  1. This guy has supercharged the role that has been played by Jon Stewart over the past several years. Repeatedly his reports have taken some of the most serious social and political issues affecting Americans and explained them in terms both hard hitting and easily understood. The only important point that I think he has missed in this report is the role that state legislators play in determining congressional districts.

    Unfortunately it appears that his youthful audience will not be showing up at the polls today.

    “The state picture is dramatically more Republican than it was going into the election,” said Tim Storey, of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

    While many races were too close to call, “Democrats are going to be in their weakest position in legislatures in decades, since well before World War II,” he said. (my note – since before the Great Depression?)
