Al Gore is right. Dealing with climate change is a moral issue that humanity is clearly ignoring.
I disagree with Mr. Gore’s optimism that the human race will eventually “Wake Up” and fix the problem. Our economy and politics is controlled by the Global Financial Complex and their single purpose is to maximize shareholder return. To hell with any consequential damage to the planet. Anyone have any suggestions on how Wall Street can be defanged?????
Wall Street and the rest of the far right climate denying delayalists and ARFs—anti-renewable fanatics—are acting the way they are because they’re psychopaths—more precisely nihilistic narcissistic psychotic psychopaths. They are helpless in the grips of their fear-, rage-, hatred-, and shame-based addiction to domination and sadism.
Peaceful mass protests done well, followed by a truth and reconciliation process, can act as mass psychotherapy for them, and for us. That’s the only way I see us coming out of this crisis without the kind of anger, resentment, and hatred that has poisoned US politics since the Civil War.
