Best heat pump video! It’s accurate, engaging, and sharable—let’s fight myths and misconception with good information.
It does a decent job explaining the physics, which most folks don’t understand.
Is it the best?

This is a great video describing air-to-air heat pumps which are probably the most common. But if you have a large property, or are in a rural location, you might wish to consider a so called “ground source” heat pump. Here is a link to one of the many American manufacturers: https://www.waterfurnace.com/ (BTW, ground-source only refers to heating mode; it cooling mode more accurate names would be either “air source” or “ground sink”)
I enjoy complaining so I’ll complain about the cat – otherwise, yes, I’d say that’s the best brief explainer I’m aware of.
For a much deeper dive into conventional air-source heat pumps, the guy at Technology Connections does his usual very thorough examination (his “short” version is nearly half an hour). In both versions he talks about sizing them, why to watch out for HVAC contractors potentially over-speccing, and much more.
Here’s his main video from a year ago, and he links to the shorter one as well as to prior explainers of the heat-pump theory and how it works.
Old HVAC industry practices are holding us back and costing us money. But we can fix it.
