This has been used in UK and other places for domestic heating for many years, called storage heaters. I believe the inventor is an Irishman. Losing favour now, as less control than central heating.
I’ve got a little ceramic space heater running under my desk right now … been running them for years. One in the bathroom. Takes just enough of the edge off to keep the gas-guzzling furnace set to 62*
I don’t think I paid more than twenty bucks for them at the Depot …
