A world famous Veterinarian (with his own Nat Geo TV show – see trailer above) lives in Isabella County, Michigan – where he’s cared for farm animals of all kinds for 40 years. He was one of the first to sign up to host wind turbines when they came in a few years ago.
Now he’s expanding TV footprint, and his family farm on hundreds of acres, complete with a menagerie of beasts and a mess of kids – all among the wind turbines, which not only create some of the state’s lowest cost electricity (4.3 cents/kwh), support local services like sheriff patrols, schools, libraries and fire/rescue – but help keep farmers on the land as stewards against encroaching sprawl.
Weird how he seems enthusiastic and not at all worried about mythical negative effects of turbines, for his land, his kids, or his animals.
He clearly did NOT go to school at Facebook University!
After years of helping animals, veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol is building them a home.
The beloved TV veterinarian — who has taken viewers behind the scenes of his practice on the Nat Geo WILD show, The Incredible Dr. Pol, since 2011 — is trying something new, and he has a new show to go with it.
The Incredible Pol Farm premieres on Nat Geo WILD on Jan. 6. The program follows the Michigan-based veterinarian and three generations of his family as they work together to turn 350 acres of undeveloped land into a fully functional family farm.
PEOPLE has a sneak peek of the new show. In the exclusive clip, which will serve as the opening to the upcoming series, Dr. Pol explains how he decided to try farming for himself.
And why wouldn’t you continue to thrive in beautiful Isabella County, where wind development has injected much needed revenue into local coffers, while preserving the beauty of the land, and protecting the farmers that live there from encroaching sprawl.

Google says:
Dr Jan Pol has been a practicing veterinarian for more than half his life. In 1981 he and his wife, Diane, opened a vet business out of their home, and over the years it has grown to service more than 19,000 clients. Set in Central Michigan’s farm country, this reality series follows Dr Pol and the work done at Pol Veterinary Services. Specializing in large farm animals, Dr Pol treats horses, pigs, cows, sheep, alpacas, goats, chickens and even an occasional reindeer. The program also features Dr Brenda Grettenberger, who has worked with Dr Pol since 1992.
