Well done.

  1. This is way too late. The BBC hosted climate deniers like Nigel Lawson for decades to “balance” climate news with bullshit.
It’s now crystal clear that climate breakdown is happening on our watch. The UK government has banned onshore wind and will not meet any of its agreed targets to address this disaster.
I’m fucking livid at the lack of honesty shown in corporate Britain and especially the BBC.
BTW Michael Mann is calling for the dismantling of the Murdoch empire with legal consequences for its bosses. It’s they who have done so much harm in the fight against fossil interests, many of which are based in the USA.

  2. I tend to cringe at couched terms in news reports. There was a recent post here with a local Fox News video of a reporter staying that the Vermont flooding last week was a “little anomaly”.

They were very careful in the BBC video above to add that the recent phenomena is due “in part” to global warming – both in the intro and in the analysis sections. Gotta be conservative with the language when the world is burning – might get labeled an alarmist.

A single 1000 weather event by itself can be said to be due “in part” to warning, but what do you say about a string of many massive weather events happening globally in a very short amount of time?
