Punctuated disequilibrium
We are witnessing an instant, radical transformation of global ecology. There’s nothing that can happen here except an exponential worsening of conditions that will continue the rest of our lives. Forests are going to go the way of the dinosaurs. In 30 years almost all of what’s now forestland (2/3 of what it was before civilization) will be scrubland, shortgrass prairie, and scattered savannah, and what’s now grassland and savannah will be desert resembling the Sahara or Atacama.
But not to worry. The leaders of the world have it well in hand with their not zero 2050 strategy.
My takeaway:
“Those Canadian wildfires are expected to burn all summer.”
I heard a blurb on CBC radio saying that 1,500 international fire fighters had join the fight. But these fires are spread across 4-time zones…

All those fires send more CO2 into the atmosphere. Meanwhile the current CO2 levels was already too high a 424
