I used to think that both guys were climate scientists BUT Roy Spencer’s education classifies him as a meteorologist (doctor of weather). BTW, John Christy was hand-picked by Exxon-Mobile in 2001 to replace Michael MacCracken as the US reprehensive to the IPCC. Here’s a copy of the proof:
