PHOENIX – Three extensions of the Valley Metro light rail system will move forward after voters rejected Proposition 105, which would have halted the expansion.
With 185,852 votes tallied, unofficial returns showed Prop 105 trailing 63% to 37%.
The story of fossil fuel fuckery of mass transit is similar to what we see around the country related to renewable energy projects. There have been a number of projects held up or cancelled due to similar phony “grass roots” groups organized by the coal industry and others.
But good people waking up and starting to win those, too.

Slighly irritating might be a better way to describe it. But I for one wouldn’t have listened to more than 30 seconds of his good message if it wasn’t for the humor. IMO, the rather disgusting Koch Brothers with their foul language and behavior were part of the joke—-the real Kochs are, by comparison, far worse.
(1) He’s a comedian.
(2) He got over a million views on a rather in-depth take on an otherwise boring issue.
It was a big deal when the pollsters found out that more young people got more political information from Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show than from the mainstream news outlets. That show launched comedic progressive activists Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Samantha Bee and Hasan Minhaj. As a nerd, I embrace wonky coverage of issues, but I appreciate that the goofy approach makes these topics more palatable to a much wider audience. It’s the skinny end of the wedge for people who would otherwise never be exposed to important non-sexy issues.
