But extremes in heat, drought, rainfall, and yes, cold – are making a big impact in the heartland – and interior areas of every continent.

  1. Access to ports and transit matter a lot for states that export anything, be it cars, soy beans or even petroleum (Lousianna). A lot of the oil infrastructure could sink under waxing water, ironically enough. Dislocation of infrastructure in coastal areas will impact fly-over country too.
