That’s also the essence of trolling. A significant block of Trump voters are trolls, especially those in the younger crowd.
To be fair, a lot of voters thought he was serious when he said he wouldn’t outsource more jobs (even though more are getting outsourced now, than they were under Obama), when he said he would give everyone high quality government paid healthcare, he would end the overseas wars (at the same time he said he would bomb the shit out of ISIS and defeat them within the first month of his presidency or something like that), that he would bring coal back, that he would negotiate lower drug prices, etc.
The younger libertarian folks voted for him over Clinton because they thought she would escalate the wars we’re in and start WWIII. Some of those publications like Zero Hedge have turned on him regarding his war mongering, now that the Bush war criminals are back in charge of foreign policy.
He had a bunch of liberal rhetoric; more liberal than Clinton’s messaging. A lot of times he’s contradict himself and people would just hear what they wanted to hear out of him.

How can you have a conversation with a Trump voter? Right now, you can’—-because they are still living in their world of fantasy and what they want to believe rather than in a fact-based world.
I hardly try any more, but the ones I talk to ARE becoming somewhat aware of what a liar Trump is and are beginning to see how he sold them out. When the SHTF and lands on them, particularly in their pocketbooks, they will be much more ready to “process information”. Can’t wait.
