La La Land: Nice, but…These are First World Problems, People.

Probably deserves every technical award, lighting, music, choreography, camera – Emma Stone strong contender for Best Actress. The number above is a first class earworm.

But ultimately, things being the way they are, star struck lovers and their woes, dancing among the stars,  not quite doing it for me.

  1. Doesn’t quite do it for me either. Just more “entertainment” to distract the masses from thinking about anything important.

Just like the “Apprentice”-like TV spectacle of The Pussy Grabber announcing his SCOTUS nominee at 8 PM this evening—-mugging, waving his hands, using bad grammar, making dumbass jokes—-a YUUUGE embarrassment to the nation.

He managed to kiss and put his hands on Gorsuch’s wife TWICE on national television, and she looked like she was trying to avoid him.

  2. “Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses” – Juvenal, Satire X, 100 A.D.

    Sic transit gloria mundi

    1. Yep. I too had the “bread and circuses” thought at first, but it was a bit too intellectual.

So I went with a more low brow approach to match the tone set by The Pussy Grabber.

      1. “too intellectual” – we need to be more so in the time of Drumpf.
Don’t let the bastards dumb you down
