Bill’s become quite a bit more crusty in recent months, which I think is a good thing.
In the past few years, there were plenty of times when I thought he let guests, especially rightwingers, derail the conversation.
That happens a lot less now. But it seems he’s found a new Ann Coulter-ish panelist in this Kellyanne Conway; hope she doesn’t come back often.
And if I never have to hear from Coulter again, I’ll try to grieve too deeply.
I have followed this forum for quite a few years now, amazed at Peter’s dedication and focus throughout the years. Here Bill Maher says in a very funny and light way my thoughts exactly, he nails it. Don’t let us underestimate new technologies, new expertise in energy production are coming out of the Universities of the world. How many of these new breed of experts would vote for the denial party (stuck in fossil wealth) I wonder. We need to keep abreast of the energy news, yes we have a mammoth task, yes there are terrible manifestations of climate change, yes we can change. Not time to give in now .
Running around the clock for two weeks, ACWA Power’s 50 MW Bokpoort project is an example of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), the solar that can be called on day or night, because when it has integrated thermal energy storage in molten salts, it is dispatchable solar.
A “trough” CSP project, Bokpoort was built in just two years, and includes 450 MWh/day of molten salt storage.
