  1. I recall a talk by Dr. Alley not too many years ago describing Antarctica as a very cold place that will take some time to change, but it will warm.

    Now I know Wikipedia is not always 100% correct. But they say during the Eemian temperatures were 3 degrees higher than today and sea level was 5 – 7 meters higher. That was with a CO2 level of just under 300ppm, now we are at 400ppm and with a whole slew of other greenhouse gases that did not exist during the Eemian.

    Yet somehow we are going to keep the temperature under 1 1/2 degrees and seas will rise no more than 2 meters by centuries end.
