Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
The true measure of dumb is when you’re so dumb you don’t even know you’re dumb. Dunning Kruger strikes again. (see video below the fold)
Sarah Palin would like to be Donald Trump’s secretary of energy if he’s elected president — but she doesn’t think she’d hold the job very long.
“If I were head of that, I’d get rid of it,” the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee said in an interview aired Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” referring to the Department of Energy. She’d abolish the department, she said, and give states greater control of energy policy within their borders.
She also suggested she’d work to move the U.S. away from importing oil and gas from other countries.
“Energy is my baby,” she said. “Oil and gas and minerals — those things that God has dumped on this part of the earth for mankind’s use instead of us relying on unkind foreign nations for us to import their resources.”
The Energy Department does not regulate oil and gas development. Its primary responsibilities include supporting basic scientific research, setting efficiency standards for various products and maintaining the nation’s nuclear arsenal. The Interior Department regulates energy development on federal lands and offshore, and EPA sets rules to limit air and water pollution from those activities on both public and private lands.

Why, oh why, is anyone giving this airhead airtime?
After that nonsensical rant some months back, she should have just gone away.
And Obama should have offered to lend her his teleprompter.
Word to the wise, don’t ever put someone who doesn’t believe in something in charge of it.
“Why, oh why, is anyone giving this airhead airtime?”
Ratings, baby. Ratings = money. It’s the “Jerry Springer” effect in politics. People watch Jerry Springer to feel superior to the bottom level thinkers in our society, and Palin has the same effect to us. There are also her supporters going “WOO WOO WOO WOO!” and fist-pumping while clicking on the link to watch her speak.
If Trump does get the nomination, though, this could be added to the miles-long list as a reason why not to vote for him.
There are also her supporters going “WOO WOO WOO WOO!”
Here’s what Trump had to say about Palin back in January (~4:25). It’s all the fault if the media giving her “bad press”, just as she got “ambushed” by Katie Couric in 2008. We know how completely vicious Katie is, and if she hadn’t asked such nasty questions…..
I wonder what Trump will say about her display here? Will he excuse her by saying “She’s so dumb she doesn’t know she’s dumb”? (Or maybe he doesn’t know what the different departments do either?)

I am reminded of a great bumper sticker cartoon I saw in the last campaign, somebody joking about Sarah for Prez and Michelle for Veep.
THE RETURN OF THELMA AND LOUISE
VOTE PALIN-BACHMANN IN 2012
THEY WILL DRIVE THE USA OFF THE CLIFF
When elected, Trump should put Palin in the cabinet and also name Bachmann to some cabinet position. Then he can sit in the back seat of the convertible and watch.
Every year, we’re one step closer to making Mike Judge’s “Idiocracy” a reality.
