Radio Host Bryan Fischer thinks it’s a reasonable hypothesis. More research needed.
Go ahead and laugh. This is only going to get louder as things keep changing.

I for one am LOL—-although it’s not really very funny. I had made a comment on the “Houston 500 year flood” thread in reply to jimbill’s posting there of a link to a TX newspaper article.
It got lost in WordPress land, and may appear days from now, but my sarcastic closing was to the effect that the crazies WOULD be soon be saying that the floods and tornadoes ARE god’s punishment for such sins as allowing same-sex marriage, teaching evolution in the schools, raising the minimum wage, and providing health insurance for all. And here they are—we are doomed.
“… teaching evolution…” You can take this one step further, saying that they are being punished with floods or heatwaves for their arrogance in raising the science of man above the scripture of God. And as Senator Inhofe has stated before, “The hoax is that there are some people who are so arrogant to think that they are so powerful, they can change climate. Man can’t change climate.” To trust in climate science would then be punishable by the very same catastrophes that it explains by reference to our carbon emissions and by means of physics.
Well, he’s in good company at least. CNN) — Women who dress provocatively and tempt people into promiscuity are to blame for earthquakes, a leading Iranian hard-line cleric has apparently said. The prayer leader, Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi, says women and girls who “don’t dress appropriately” spread “promiscuity in society.”
“When promiscuity spreads, earthquakes increase,” he says in a video posted Monday on YouTube, apparently of him leading Friday prayers in Tehran, Iran, last week.

Thanks for the “insight” to what is happening in my former neighborhood in Houston. Ha.
Actually,he is correct. Jesus in the gospels twice explains what the “Sin of Sodom” is and in neither does he use any word remotely connected in meaning to “qu $#r” etal. The Sin of Sodom is abandoning widows and orphans and not treating your neighbors decently. Since that is the state sport in Texas, yeah the floods are very definitely god’s punishment of sodomites, who are actually the teabaggers.
Some scientists say that sodomy is practiced more by heterosexuals.
God’s loophole

On a more sober note: imagine what will happen when Climate Change gets serious later this century.
Shouldn’t the Allahmighty have destroyed San Francisco, West Hollywood and South Beach by now?
Send them this pie chart: http://www.jamespowell.org/Piecharts/styled/index.html
Once again, Christian conservative pundits proudly demonstrate their scientific cluelessness regarding the causes of natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes.
And what of all of the ‘proper Christian folks’ who had their lives destroyed by the floods. Divine collateral damage? Sucks to be them, eh?
Furthermore, their perception of God continues to be one of a thin-skinned, petty, spiteful, ego-centric, malevolent, sadistically abusive, empathy-challenged, conscience-devoid, micro-managing sadist — with a regard for mankind … including innocent children … somewhat akin to how many of them treat their wives.
It seems that these feisty Christ-ies can’t recognize hubris in themselves, despite it being the Original Sin.
Instead of being made in God’s image, they’ve recast the supposedly loving & forgiving creator in their own.
Are you saying god is a Republican member of Congress?
How do you square that with the known fact that Jesus is a liberal.

Why do crazy people like this get a platform. It really hurts the collective intelligence of the world.
G-d’s punishment for not believing in science. But seriously, how much did lack of land use regulations and zonings have to do with this?
