As an aside worrying news for Pennsylvania residents where a recent study by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health researchers found that 42 percent of radon readings surpass what the U.S. government considers safe – which have been on the rise since 2004, around the time that the fracking industry began drilling natural gas wells in the state. Radon, an odorless radioactive gas, is considered the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the world after smoking.
Yet more costs and worries added to hydrocarbon production ?
Yeah people ignore radon but it’s pretty serious. I had our house tested and it was 114ppm and the “safe” ratio is 4ppm and under. Needless to say we got it mitigated as quickly as possible. It’s down to 0.9ppm now.
