Anti-EV Flyers Pop up on Teslas

teslaflyer

BusinessInsider:

People are apparently leaving fliers on Tesla cars in San Francisco, warning drivers that owning a Tesla means they are involved in “organized crime.”

The flier accuses Tesla of “manipulating Congress” and questions the safety of lithium ion batteries.

“Lithium ion batteries blow up if they get wet or bumped,” the flier reads. “They have already burned planes, cars, homes & children. There have been tens of thousands of lithium ion battery fires & explosions. Tesla’s (sic) have over 7000 “non-automotive designed” batteries in each car, that means over 7000 chances of having a catastrophic fire.”

The flier also speculates that Google is a “silent partner” of Tesla’s.

“Tesla audio and location tracking can be remotely monitored with two clicks of a mouse,” the flier reads. “Google hushes up bad news about Tesla. By driving a Tesla you are supporting spying.”

It’s not clear who is behind this, but the flier ultimately urges Tesla owners to give the car back. Check it out here.

  1. Around the year 2004 there was a group leaving leaflets on SUVs in the south of London. They asked people to switch to a different car, but I do not remember the leaflet had the name of any group or a contact number or email. For some reason this happened only once, to me at least.

    And mine wasn’t a SUV, rather a proper 4×4 😉

Disclaimer…if I had the money I’d bought a Tesla already

  2. Any car with a voice-activated informatics system and any sort of radio connection to broader networks (3G, WiFi, even Bluetooth) can conceivably be hacked to be a surveillance device.  Every car with OnStar is already a tracking device.

Consumers should be warned of this and have a way to turn it off, by verifiable hardware shutoff.

  3. If you see a Tesla coming, run! “Psychographic, demographic and marketing studies have been published showing that Tesla drivers have a higher-than-average inclination towards drugs, strange sexual behavior and risk. Could this account for the number of Tesla crashes and deaths.”

  4. If anyone thinks Tesla cars have zero emissions, they are sadly mistaken. Everyone knows they are secretly spraying invisible mind-altering zombie/hippie chemicals to compliment the UN backed airborn chemtrails program. Wakeup SHEEPLE!

    1. Yes, that certainly makes sense. My dog refuses to urinate on their tires—-in contrast, he will yank one’s arm out as he strives to do so to a Cadillac Escalade. Could it be that he is sensitive to the chemical residue?

      1. I recommend you have a very close look at your dog. You may find he actually isn’t your dog but a very clever substitute dog switched by the lizard people. He has been trained to lull you into a FALSE sense of security about the cars. MY SHOUTY ALL CAPS MAKES IT TRUE. BEWARE THE LIZARD PEOPLE.

      2. Your dog is very smart he knows he stands a good chance of being electrocuted if he pisses on a Tesla – you ever see what happens when a dog pisses on an electric fence – same thing 😉

        1. If you ever met my dog, you would know that “smart” is not his strong suit. He only wizzes on vehicle TIRES, anyway—-not the bodies, so it must be the zombie chemical traces that keep him away.

  5. When I read the flyer I kept hearing it in the voice of Dana Carvey’s SNL Church Lady. “The Tesla Model S is zero emission . . .isn’t that special? What does the ‘S’ stand for? Could it be . . . Satan?”

  6. This is probably coming from the people involved in the anti-tech movement in San Francisco. Because Techies and their commuter busses are unfair and the Techies are buying up and pricing low income folks out of town. There have been some physical altercations between these folks and the busses. I would not be surprised if they associate Teslas with their problems.
