Fox News: We’ve Always loved the Volt. After this Break, – We’ve always been at war with Eastasia

The Foxis of Evil campaign against American technological leadership took an odd turn the other day.

I’ve reported here on the exasperation of Auto executives at the supposedly “conservative pro-business” ideologues at Fox News who have been relentlessly trashing one of the most hopeful symbols of America’s revived Auto industry, the Chevy Volt.

Fox News can’t stop the electric car, or renewable energy. What they can do is insure that those technologies will be developed somewhere else and sold back to us. One would think American technological prowress would be celebrated. But at Fox, everything takes a back seat to pushing the latest blast Fax from GOP  headquarters.

In a bizarre turnaround, suddenly, the Volt “.. is a great car, that’s gotten a bad wrap, all because of President Obama’s record.”

Huh? I know. You just have to watch it.

  1. Looks like Spiekerman’s front bumper sticker is going to read “Fox New is my bitch”

    1. This interview still pisses me off. This guy (Spiekerman) seems to speak highly of Bob Lutz as a climate change skeptic, yet also believes in fighting terrorism by using American fossil fuels. News flash, buddy, the US Department of Defense lists climate change as a threat multiplier. Nations can potentially be pushed to the brink if their climate shifts and their staple crops are not as viable (just one among other affects that can lead to reduced stability). Where do you think that anger will be directed when these affected people realize the root cause?

Fox News may be supporting the Volt, but they have a ways to go before supporting the reasonable assessments of climate change from our armed forces, science academies, and energy departments.

  2. Faux “News” has always been after the big money. “Truth” is who spend the most. Corporate America… They will only know when all will have gone… too late then. How do you spell “oligarchy”? … Russia is only mimicking this principle.

  3. The Volt is a good idea but just not implemented correctly by GM. Far too much was spent on development of these vehicles and buyers will continue to choose Prius vehicles over these. Even the PHV Prius is still cheaper by several thousand $. As for Fox news, who cares what they think about it, do you think potential buyers of these types of vehicles are watching Fox news anyways.
