  1. It is ironic that folks who refuse to admit that ~ 3/4 century of anthropogenic CO2 hasn’t resulted in any increase at all in the rate of sea level rise, call the realists “science deniers.”

    1. If that is the case, please provide a website for your real estate office on the coast of Louisiana, your office hours during Jindal’s crowning, and why you didn’t sue BP for the oil because Looter Limbaugh said that it was diluted enough to drink.

      1. What? I have no idea what you’re talking about ozonator, but if you want proof that 3/4 century of anthropogenic CO2 hasn’t caused any acceleration in rate of sea level rise, then just look at the tide gauges:

        http://www.burtonsys.com/climate/MSL_global_trendtable1.html

That list is from NOAA’s web site, augmented with clickable links, lat/lon, etc. Click on the station names to see NOAA’s graphs. How many of them can you find that show any sign of acceleration in rate of sea level rise in response to anthropogenic CO2 (i.e., since the 1930s or 1940s)?

      2. Or, if you prefer, look at the satellite altimeter data. There’s only about 17 years of it, so far, so it is a bit premature to draw hard conclusions from it, but it sure looks like the rate of sea level rise is declining:

  2. (Reuters) –
“More Americans than last year believe the world is warming and the change is likely influenced by the Republican presidential debates, a Reuters/Ipsos poll said on Thursday.

The percentage of Americans who believe the Earth has been warming rose to 83 percent from 75 percent last year in the poll conducted Sept 8-12″

…….a majority of Americans from both major parties agree on global warming, the poll found. Some 72 percent of Republicans believe global warming is happening and 92 percent of Democrats do, it found.”

The GOP politicians are even out of step with their own consituents.

  3. No matter how much pain and suffering climate change causes, no matter how much disruption and how clear the link between extreme weather, crop failure, third-world suffering, etc. and global warming becomes, politicians will ALWAYS say what they think people with money or power want to hear.

When will someone stand up for what is right and shout down the nonsense? When it is too late?

How terrible is it going to feel to say, “I told you so”. Worse than the pain it may cause to stand up now? Worse than the discomfort it may cause? Worse than the social stigma?

I’m thrilled when I see third-world solutions, out-of-the-partisan-box thinking, etc. that works in spite of our ‘murican stupefaction. But will it be enough? Or will it simply be a lifeboat in the rising seas?

    1. I agree — the music is so loud that it is painful trying to listen to what’s being said. It leaves me wondering whether whoever had control of the video’s final edit was a climate BS denialist sympathiser… but that’s conspiracy talk, and thus immediately dismissible out of hand.

  4. New Hampshire has a strong tradition of Independence

the current GOP is far too rigid- and their rejection of science in a part of the country that treasures intelligent thinking in the end will spell doom to the GOP In the general election this year.
