Doubt is Their Product. Denialism from Tobacco to Climate Change

Watching tobacco executives cooly assert that they do not believe nicotine is addictive is a good, bracing reminder of the depths of dishonesty that the denialist mindset can produce. These guys would be right at home in the Koch Brother’s climate denial machine – (in fact, they developed the playbook for it, see this week’s Weekend Wonk below)

  1. Brilliant. My favourite part: Perry trying to say “there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data.” He can’t manage it without the classic body-language “I’M LYING AND I KNOW IT!!” tick.

    Or maybe he just had an itchy nose. A dangerous thing for a top level politician not to be able to lie professionally…
