One of the most notorious of the East Anglia Climate e-mails was written by Dr. Ben Santer, wherein he mused that he sometimes harbored the desire to “beat the crap out of Pat Michaels” – a well known shill for the fossil fuel industry.
In November, 2010, the two men shared a witness table in testimony before the Congressional Science and Technology Committee.

Over Thanksgiving, my visiting 25 yr old son and ten of his conservative leaning friends, who do not follow climate science, apathetically agreed to watch the same section of the hearing. By the time it was over they were laughing so hard they were crying – and cheering Dr. Santer on like a prize fighter.
