Always worthwhile, this YouTuber, Inside China Business, today focusing on China’s emerging generational leadership in offshore wind, compliments of the Trump administration.
China isn’t just building wind turbines—it’s scaling a new energy system. These are 25-year assets, getting bigger, stronger & more efficient with every generation.
China now holds ~45–50% of global wind capacity and generates over 40% of the world’s wind electricity. Nearly 70%… pic.twitter.com/VnPZoqyzqv

I did so like the bit where Kevin Walmsley pointed out that the US had announced a major defect in our radar capabilities in that it could not tell the difference between a fixed-location wind turbine and a new moving target, a problem that Chinese radar apparently doesn’t have. 🙄

Covering the blades with copper mesh, .. during a transformer shortage?
(1) I don’t think that China has a transformer shortage.
(2) The issue is whether the amount of copper used/needed compares to the function it serves.
An earlier article about US skunkworks car design showed how wasteful of copper earlier designs have been.
BTW, how much copper do you think a nuclear power plant uses? How about a suburban home?
