  1. This is great. Thank you for sharing. But, even here, I think we are totally missing the efficiency part of the equation. Back in the mid-80s, Amory Lovins noted that a significant portion of power “need” could be met by upgrading efficiency and reducing waste. The whole, “enough to power 150,000 homes,” metric, used when reporting on new power generation projects, drives me nuts. Are they talking about 150,000 inefficient, sprawling homes or 150,000 tight, efficient, near “net zero” homes? Where is ‘spend energy money on efficiency and reducing waste’ in all this discussion? I think that’s what the IRA was going to prioritize, but maybe utilities should be required to include efficiency in its generation equation. LOVE the elephant in the room discussion. I think Rural Electric Co-ops (in name only) that have been spreading and using climate & renewables mis/disinfo for decades are also part of the problem.
