Wow.
What would you say if you knew it would be your last opportunity? New Netflix documentary interview series Famous Last Words asks some of the world’s cultural icons to do just that, recording in-depth, intimate interviews with the understanding that they’ll only be aired posthumously. Conducted by Emmy Award winner Brad Falchuk, the series will begin with the much-beloved ethologist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, with whom he talked earlier this year.
“Jane Goodall was fearless in all things. She deeply loved humanity and the natural world. It was clear to me in our conversation that she was approaching her final adventure with the same fearlessness, hope, humor, and joy that she approached everything else in life. She was one of the world’s greatest and most beloved champions of good,” Brad Falchuk said. (Read more about Falchuk’s conversation with Jane Goodall here.)
This series of long-form interviews is based on the notable Danish TV format of the same name — Det Sidste Ord — and includes icons who have made indelible marks on society and culture. Each interview is conducted with extreme discretion — conversations so private that only the interviewee and interviewer are present. The session is recorded by remotely operated cameras and is then preserved. This ensures an intimacy of conversation and fidelity of reflection from some of the world’s greatest minds.
