David Suzuki: We Have Failed to Act on Climate

I would caveat with the admonistions of people like Michael Mann and Katharine Hayhoe that every tenth of a degree of climate warming matters, and we still have many opportunities to transition the energy production economy.

But yeah, worth listening to Canadian Science presenter David Suzuki vent about the lack of progress, in this year of Our Lord 2025.

  1. Globalization is the only thing that can save our bacon (Canadian or otherwise), as with China’s providing the cheapest means to convert to renewable energy and EVs worldwide, and Chinese manufacturers are establishing footprints in other countries (like BYD in Brazil).

As for fresh food, Canadians have all the tech they need to reproduce the vertical farms that Bowery Farming is developing: High-efficiency grow lights, minimal water, no pesticides, hyper-efficient fertilizers, etc. Other than that, they should have thought about that before they formed a country at such high latitudes!
