Today Show: Car Insurance Up Due to Weather Extremes, Hail Damage

I’ve set this to start at the insurance discussion at 2:38.
18 percent increase in car insurance.
Good news, Bad News story, in that car prices are down, but cost of ownership up due to insurance, as readers here will know.
Report mentions “crazy weather”, but makes no mention of climate change.

How will consumers ever make the connection if journalists do not report it?

  1. She mentioned the hail but not the flooding, which will be an increasing basis for claims. People try to restart their vehicles when they stall out in the floodwater (they don’t want to be stuck there), which ruins their engines ($$$).
