  1. The charging profile of EV batteries requires a different mindset (and routine) than gassing up. There’s not much difference in functionality between buying just 20 bucks worth of gas and filling your tank to the top. An EV battery is harder (and slower) to charge as it reaches 100%. (This is why a cross country trip might be faster if you charge to, say, a quick 50% and get right back on the road rather than waiting for a much longer time to “top off” the battery. The total non-traveling time is shorter.)
