Tornado sirens in downtown Chicago two nights in a row, with last night’s fun being yet another derecho. I live in a high-rise and after chaining my balcony furniture to the railing I thought I’d watch out the window when the sirens went off. But then my windows and the airshaft vents in my unit all made a sound at the same time, so I sheltered a few minutes in the hall away from all windows. Luckily no damage for me, not so good for lots of folks with trees down.
