As with the Great Salt Lake, more and more of the ancient playa will be re-exposed due to the ongoing aridification, and nothing can be done to protect kids (or sickly adults) from the wind-blown dust of the area. Heaven help the lungs of the children of any Li or power plant worker who moves there.
What does it mean to “preserve” the Salton Sea which was a playa 130 years ago?
