On Shooting, On Blackouts: Texas Governor Mislead, or Misleading?

Above, compare Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s performance following the tragic shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and also after the deadly Valentine’s Day Blackout of 2021.

Mislead, misleading, or both?

  1. It is difficult for me to even watch this. As a Texas resident for nearly 20 years, you might expect me to become desensitized to the BS coming from Abbott and his ilk. The incompetency of Texas state government agencies across the Board is an emergent property of the Texas Republicans’ obsession with nonsensical ideology. Abbott skates by with his dissembling, deflection, and advocacy of radical, right-wing, looney policies and ideology that simply don’t stand up to scrutiny because Texas voters buy all that crap.

    1. My loathing for Abbott is only exceeded by my loathing for Ted Cruz. He isn’t just a bought politician, he’s a grossly incompetent bought politician. (I’m comparing him to someone like Louisiana’s crooked Governor Edwin Edwards, who still provided for the people and was fundamentally a decent man in more important ways.)
