It helps if you know your geography for Arctic seas (your Barents, your Chukchi, your Laptev, etc.) when watching this. Also, since the metric for sea ice extent in this particular talk is “at least 15% sea ice”, wind patterns can have as much or more influence on “extent” as temperature/melt histories.
