  1. Anyone know why it was not ‘permitted’? Apart from interfering with the Kennedys et al view of course. Straight question.

    1. Yes, but what were the given ‘reasons’, excuses, for deigning permits? Curious and for future knowledge.

        1. The Kennedys, disgustingly, allied with the Kochs to stop Cape Wind and discourage others by costing the wind power backers those millions. Both families have compounds there. Anyone who doubts that the oligarchic Democrats are also narcissistic psychopaths who must be removed from power might want to think on this.

          1. Are they still a major power, even behind the scenes? The only one I hear about is the anti-vax loon Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

          2. I haven’t been following the fight, but yes, still powerful behind, in front of, and on the scenes, it seems. Not a surprise at all even if it were just the amount of money they have, but given their connections and current power, official and un, not diminished.

RFK Jr. and other members of the family are indeed against Deepwater Wind, but Joe K 3, who occupied Barney Frank’s US House seat until he resigned to lose to Ed Markey over Ed’s Senate seat, has come out in favor of it. It seems like a very mixed bag.

Markey has been pretty progressive all along, considering, and has been more aggressive on climate than almost anyone in congress. He’s introduced a better infrastructure bill than Biden’s—the $10 trillion THRIVE Act…and the Green New Deal Resolution he put forth with AOC. For a Kennedy to go against him is a disturbing sign.

    2. “The Commission said it did not have enough information to make a decision. Local papers said Cape Wind could offer to provide more information to the Commission or appeal to the state to override the local authorities, or both.

“The Commission’s denial based, not on the merits but, on claims that Cape Wind provided insufficient information does not square with the record,” Jim Gordon, president of Cape Wind, said in a release.
