Climate Denial is a Disease, and Deadly to Democracy

Rep Andrew Clyde (R -Ga) helps colleagues barricade a door against capitol rioters on January 6

Following reports and video of Rep Andrew Clyde’s remarks about the Capitol riots of January 6, Tom Williams, Photog for Roll Call, tweeted this:

So, doing a little checking, I googled Rep. Clyde’s position on climate change. You’ll be shocked at what I found.

If you have not seen my most recent video that has been in YouTube jail, you’ll need to jump thru some hoops, but well worth it.

  1. In other words, bull**** breaks your brain. And we have a heckuva lot of people with broken brains.

I’m beginning to persuade myself that ending the torrential flow of bull**** is more important than freedom of political speech. Bull**** should not be protected political speech – it should lead to financial and political consequences and not just at the ballot box.

    1. I feel that way sometimes.

How do we do it, when the administration and congress repeatedly lie to justify wars, when the whole range off corporate media go along with the lies to support the wars, when social media sites hire professional climate denying delayalists to moderate and fact check… Who guards the guardians?

The best way is to pre-debunk the lies; the best way to do that is with better education, especially for those who have the most trouble benefiting from it. To do that we have to improve childhoods–the physical, economic, ecological, and especially emotional circumstances people in the US grow up in. And we need to fix the structural problems of the US, starting with the failed constitution that has allowed the right wing to stage an ongoing 60 year coup and now nearly rule the country.
